FEER
In late 2001 my column moved from The Asian Wall Street Journal to the Far Eastern Economic Review. Supported by a great editorial team, and renamed Loose Wire, the column won an appreciative audience among the region’s readers, from ministers to little old ladies. I found it hard to interview Indonesian officials on politics without them impatiently waving away my questions with their own requests for assistance on fixing a recalcitrant gadget, or removing viruses from their computer.
The column continued until the Review’s switch to a more academic publication, whereupon my column moved back to the Journal.
While at the Review I also wrote on political issues, particularly Indonesia, and contributed technology-related features.
